  1. Is it possible to purchase such an airship? What is the price?

    Yes, you may order an airship directly from the manufacturer GEFA-FLUG GmbH in Germany. Please have a look at the GEFA-FLUG-Airship-Programme for more information and a detailed price list.

  2. Which volume does the envelope have?

    105 000 cubic feet which are about 3 000 cubic metre

  3. What does "AS 105 GD" mean?

    AS = Airship
    105 = 105 000 cubic feet
    GD = GEFA-Design

  4. When will be the next World Hot Air Airship Championship?

    The 9th FAI World Hot Air Airship Championship will take place 13th July to 18th July 2010 in Dole / France:

  5. How many hot-air airship pilots are there today?

    We know about 60 hotair-airship pilots worldwide. The total number would be very difficult to find out, because hotair-airship pilot licences are issued by several civil aviation authorities.

  6. What is the top speed of this airship?

    The top speed is app. 40 km/h (AS 105 GD).

  7. What is the maximum altitude of operation and what is service ceilling.

    The airships are most of the time used for advertising and passenger flights or scientific applications in low altitude. The maximum altitude of operation depends on the payload and the air temperature. For limitations please see the
